Azerbaijan reaches the level of upper middle-income country: World Bank

"During 30 years, Azerbaijan has achieved significant economic development, from a low-income country to an upper middle-income country," said Sarah Michael, Country Manager for World Bank in Azerbaijan while delivering a speech at the conference the "Sustainable Development Goals for Green Transformation in Azerbaijan", APA -Economics reports.

"Climate change negatively impacts any world country, as well as Azerbaijan. "Green transition" opens new opportunities for the countries. This allows for a transition from traditional energy-driven growth models to a new model. We as World Bank believe that Azerbaijan may be a global leader within the framework of the "green transition"," said S. Michael.
