Today, Tbilisi is hosting the 16th annual meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (HC) of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA), APA-Economica reports.
The official representatives of the countries that are parties to the "Basic Multilateral Agreement on International Transport for. Development of the Europe-the Caucasus-Asia Corridor," permanent representatives of the TRACECA Permanent Secretariat in those countries - national secretaries, as well as observer parties Lithuania, Greece, and representatives of several international organizations, are attending the meeting.
Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Rahman Hummetov, who participated in the event, spoke about the work done on the development of sustainable transport and transit corridors in Azerbaijan, the implemented projects, as well as the restoration and construction works carried out in the territories liberated from the occupation.
The deputy minister informed about the Zangazur corridor, which can have a significant impact on the expansion of the transit potential of the Middle Corridor and cause strategic changes in the transport and communication map of the region.
The meeting will also elect the Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission will be elected.
