Caspian littoral states to develop a plan to strengthen economic cooperation in region

The ministers of economy of five Caspian states (Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan) have agreed to develop a plan to enhance economic cooperation in the region by increasing mutual trade, Prime minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said at First Economic Caspian forum held in Turkmenistan, APA Economics reports citing “Kommersant”.

He noted that Russia will invest around 200 bln rubles in the development of Volga and Caspian.

The prime minister added that Russia will soon ratify the convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea. According to him the signing of the convention has been a historic event and the success of the five Caspian states.
