Maritime cargo transportation sharply decreases in Azerbaijan

In January-September of the current year, 4 478,2 thousand tonnes of cargo were transported through maritime transportation and it is 27.5% less than relevant period of the previous year, APA reports citing State Statistics Committee.

34.4% of the cargo transported during past period was oil products.

According to State Statistical Committee, 6 074,8 thousand tonnes of shipping-unshipping works have been carried out and 5 564,2 thousand or 91.6% of the cargo has been made up by transit cargo.

“Volume of cargo, rest in ports was 176,7 thousand tonnes until October 1 of this year. Number of passengers transported via sea, increasing by 30.6% has amounted to 15,8 thousand people in comaparison with corresponding period of 2018 during past period" the information reads.
