Russia considers coal export through Azerbaijani territory

Russian Railways considers transportation opportunities of coal through Azerbaijani territory, APA-Economics reports citing Russian press.

Railway operator has appealed to the exporters regarding the possibility of increasing the transportation of products in the alternative directions where the infrastructure is less loaded: "For example, through the North-South transportation corridor: Through the Samur border checkpoint to Azerbaijan, through the territory of Azerbaijan or the ports of the Caspian Sea," noted from the company.

According to the information from the Ministry of Coal Industry of Kuzbass, not fulfilling commitments by the institutions of the Kuzbass coal industry of the Russin railways as a result of the difficult situation created regarding the export of the products, may lead to an increase of coal in the warehouses, application of fines by the customers, and loss of markets.
