TikTok was the internet’s most visited site in 2021, even beating Google

The social network TikTok became the leader in traffic among Internet resources in the world in 2021, according to the information of the Wall Street Journal citing data from Cloudflare, APA-Economics reports.

TikTok is a short video creation and viewing platform owned by the Chinese company ByteDance. The social network topped the list of popular Internet resources back in February of this year and held its leadership position until August.

In 2020, TikTok ranked only seventh among the most popular Internet resources, with Google taking the lead. This year, the Google site was in second position, and the third line in the ranking of popular Internet resources was taken by the social network Facebook.

TikTok is an app released in 2018 and in just two years it has become one of the most popular in the world, surpassing social networks such as Facebook and Instagram in a short time.
