“An increase was observed in the number of the population in the post-occupation period. The total population of Zangilan was 34 thousand people before the occupation. As of today’s statistics, more than 44 thousand people from Zangilan live in different regions of Azerbaijan,” said Special representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Zangilan district, which is part of Eastern Zangezur economic district Vahid Hajiyev in his interview with APA.
“If we look at the strategy of Great Return for 2022-2026, we plan to return about 16 thousand people to various places in the Zangilan region. One of these directions is Zangilan city,” a special representative of the President noted.
