According to the Working Group on Transport, Communications and High Technologies, 70% of the construction work on the first phase of the Horadiz-Aghband railway project, which is an important part of the Zangazur corridor, has already been completed. Rails were laid at a distance of 23 km to the liberated from occupation Jabrayil region's Mahmudlu station, and work began on the road, APA-Economics reports citing Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.

In the first stage, 90 percent of the earthworks have already been completed. Superstructure elements have been installed on the 23 km section of the road. Thus, the necessary conditions have been created for the movement of working trains from Fuzuli's Horadiz station to Jabrayil's Mahmudlu station.
