Estonia to join North-South transport corridor

Baku. Vusal Nabiyev – APA-Economics. There is a great interest in the North-South Transport Corridor (NSTC), Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways Igbal Huseynov said.


According to him, Azerbaijani Railways CJSC is conducting negotiations with Estonian Railways about this project.  


“Estonian Paldski port is joining this route. Cargos from the Northern Europe and Scandinavia are planned to be transported to Iran through Russia and Azerbaijan and then to Persian Gulf”, he added.


Azerbaijani, Russian, Iranian and Estoanian relevant bodies are planned to meet and sign a memorandum in early December.


Huseynov added that negotiations will also be conducted with Georgian and Kazakh railways: “It is planned to review activation of West-East corridor, increase of cargos and works for next year”.
