According to Cabinet of Ministers of Serbia, opening of Lyiq-Boljkovci-Takovo and Takovo-Prelina parts was held on November 7 with the participation of Azerbaijani Economic Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar VuÄić. Construction of abovementioned part of the highway was funded in accordance with the loan agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Serbia and contractor is AzVirt LLC.
Azerbaijani investors and Serbia spent €308 million for this part of the highway with the length of 40.3 km. There are 66 bridges, 5 tunnels and etc. in the highway.
“Road partitions and 20 hatch covers in the 2nd km of the highway have been stolen. Serbian Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure addressed the people and demanded not to plunder the infrastructure. As a result of this, road accidents are increasing. 150 cameras have been installed along with the highway and the plunderers will be brought to responsibility”, the government said.
