42 journalists killed in the world this year while performing their professional duties

42 journalists were killed in the world in 2020, while performing their professional duties, APA reports citing the annual report of International Federation of Journalists.

It has been noted that 235 more journalists in the world have been arrested for their professional activity.

Mexico tops the list of countries with the highest number of journalists killed for the fourth time in five years. Thus, 13 journalists have been killed in Mexico for their professional activity this year. Other countries where journalists have been killed the most are Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Iraq, and Nigeria.
