A new seaport will be constructed in Poti, Georgia, ONA’s Georgia Bureau reports.
250 million dollars will be allocated for the implementation of the initial phase of the project. It is reported that the project will be implemented mainly through investment from European countries.
Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia has confirmed that there are favorable deepwater opportunities for the construction of a new port in the north of the existing port.
The annual cargo capacity of the new port will be 9 million tons.
