Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido returned to the country on a regular flight from Panama, but he got on board without registering, so the arrival of the politician remained secret and the Venezuelan authorities did not react to his return, sources familiar with Guaido's arrival told TASS on Wednesday, ONA reports citing TASS.

According to the sources, it was important for the opposition leader to show that he was returning to Venezuela, not hiding from the authorities and not fearing arrest. That is why Guaido chose a regular flight from Panama. He had arrived in Panama on a military plane from Colombia, and earlier arrived in Colombia from Ecuador by a private jet. "There was an agreement that Guaido did not have to check in when boarding the plane. At the same time, when he was already on board, many passengers began to make videos, however he asked not to post these videos on the Internet until he returns," said one of the TASS sources. Upon arrival at the airport, Guaido was already accompanied by ambassadors from a number of Latin American and European countries, which provided him with additional security.

The leader of the Venezuelan opposition returned to Caracas on March 5 after staying abroad for about a week. Earlier, the Venezuelan authorities stated that he would be detained if he returned.
