The key factor to success at the upcoming negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un should be mutual respect for their national interests, and personal chemistry can only encourage that, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday, ONA reports citing TASS.

"Personal ‘chemistry’ can facilitate a full understanding, but it can’t guarantee that," he said, commenting on a reporter’s remarks that following the summits between Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump the media started saying that the two leaders had formed a special bond.

The Kremlin spokesman is convinced that "the main thing is to respect each other’s interests and trust one another." "Communication on issues of interest to both sides will be built precisely on these principles."

He didn’t make any predictions on what the personal relations between Putin and Kim will be like. "Speaking of chemistry, we’ll see. President Putin will meet Kim, let’s wait for the results of their talks," he said.

Recall that on Thursday, the Kremlin press service reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un would hold a meeting in Russia before the end of April.
