North Atlantic Council extends NATO Secretary General

NATO Allies agreed to extend the mandate of Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg by a further two years, until 30 September 2022, ONA reports citing the Alliance website.

Allies expressed their support for the Secretary General's work to adapt and modernize NATO and ensure it remains fit for the future.

“Honoured by the decision by the NATO Allies to extend my term as Secretary-General until 30 September 2022. Together we will continue to adapt & modernize our Alliance to keep it fit for the future,” Stoltenberg said in tweet March 28.
