The head of the financial markets department of the Estonian Central Bank, Fabio Filipozzi, said that Estonia’s gold reserves amounted to 256 kg, almost all of it is stored in New York, ONA reports citing Tellerreport.

“For security reasons, they decided to keep most of the gold in foreign banks during the time of the First Estonian Republic. And so it was, "- ERR leads the words Filipozzi.

He noted that the Central Bank of Estonia remained in storage only one bar of gold. It weighs 11 kg and costs about half a million euros. The age of the ingot is about one hundred years.

It is noted that it is to a greater extent a museum exhibit since its purity is not enough to be sold on financial markets.
