Russia accuses Lithuania court's decision on Dmitry Yazov

Russia’s foreign ministry on Thursday released statement accusing Lithuania's court's decision on former Soviet defense minister Dmitry Yazov, ONAreports citing the statement released by Foreign Ministry of Russia.

"We characterize these actions as extremely unfriendly and, in fact, provocative, showing the bias and political motivation of this disgraceful court," read in the statement.

Recall that the court on Wednesday found former Soviet defense minister Dmitry Yazov guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity for his role in the crackdown against the Baltic state’s pro-independence movement.

Note that Dmitry Yazov is also guilty of the events of January 20, 1990. Under his leadership, on the night of January 19-20, 1990, USSR troops opened fire on people in Baku with heavy equipment and various types of weapons.
