"We reject U.S. President Trump's statement on 1915 events", Turkish Foreign Ministry said, ONA reports citing the statement released by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"This explanation, based on the subjective narrative of the Armenians, has no value. The distortion of history with internal political considerations is never acceptable. Recalling the suffering of more than 500,000 Muslims killed by Armenian rebels during the same period, we call on President Trump to be fair. Turkey backs the proposal to establish a Joint History Commission in order to comprehense every detail of the events occurred 104 years ago", the statement says.

The statement also reads that the radical Armenians who wanted to forget their responsibilities in the events of 1915 do not dare positively approach to this proposal. "On this occasion, we commemorate the civilized Ottoman nation, Muslim, Christian and Jewish people who lost their lives in the collapse of the Ottoman Empire."
