Draft amendments to the law “On public broadcasting” were tabled at a meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament’s Committee on Culture on Tuesday, APA reports.

According to the amendments, social commercials on Public Television (ITV) will be broadcast in accordance with the law “On advertising.” Commercials aired during public broadcasting programs should be understandable and should distinguish visually and acoustically from these programs.

In addition, sponsorship advertising should be broadcast with the condition of specifying the sponsor. Sponsorship advertising can be broadcast visually or via audio with the condition of providing information only about the name of the sponsor, the scope of activities and the product, as well as indicating the company logo through a scrolling line. The duration of each sponsored advertising broadcast on public television should not exceed two minutes.

Draft amendments will be discussed at the upcoming plenary session of the parliament.
