First panel entitled "Transition to new media journalism: convergence and new opportunities" has been held today as a part of International Media Forum in Shusha, APA reports.

Problems of traditional media, convergence process, and issues of fight against fake news have been discussed at the first panel, which has been held with moderation of Emin Musavi.

Mikhail Gusman, the first deputy general director of TASS, has reminded that soon the 150th anniversary of the Azerbaijani press will be celebrated.

He has expressed hope that the International Media Forum will reach the global level by that time.

Mikhail Gusman has also reminded the injustice Azerbaijan faced in the international media during the 44-day Patriotic War.

"Today, Shusha and Karabakh belong to Azerbaijan forever, and this truth must be delivered to the world community. This is one of the tasks of the International Media Forum", he pointed out.

The head of APA Media Group, Vusala Mahirgizi, said that the current problem of traditional media is the decrease in people's interest in it: "The reason is that the traditional media is one-sided. In traditional media, there was no environment for interactivity and debate."
