Minister of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, colonel-general Zakir Hasanov, who is on an official visit to Georgia, met with the defence minister of the country Juansher Burchuladze, Azerbaijani MoD told APA.
An official welcoming ceremony was held at Georgian Defence Ministry. According to the protocol, the ministers passed in front of the Honorary Guard, and national anthems of both countries were played accompanied by a military orchestra.
The parties exchanged detailed views on regional security, development prospects of military cooperation, holding joint military exercises and organization of the meetings.
Further expansion of cooperation in military, military-technical, military education, military medicine fields and other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
A bilateral military cooperation plan for 2023 was signed between the ministries of defence of both countries.
