On August 22, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant General Zakir Hasanov, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Lieutenant General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, at the initiative of the latter, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry told APA.
During the telephone conversation, the parties conducted a comprehensive exchange of views on the situation and security issues in the region.
The telephone conversation also discussed prospects for the development of military cooperation between the two countries.
