Azerbaijani soldier who is held captive in Armenia is sentenced to 11.5 years in prison

Agshin Babirov, an Azerbaijani soldier who is held captive in Armenia, was sentenced to 11.5 years in prison, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.

Agshin Babirov was accused of "illegally crossing the state border of Armenia, transporting firearms and ammunition.

Investigative measures regarding another Azerbaijani soldier in captivity, Huseyn Akhundov, are ongoing.

Note that soldiers of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Babirov Agshin Gabil (born in 2004) and Akhundov Huseyn Ahliman (born in 2003) went missing due to limited visibility because of the poor weather conditions in the border area of Shahbuz district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with Armenia were captured by Armenia in last month.
