Drug trafficking decreased as border with Iran at liberated part of territories taken under control: Azerbaijan SBS head

“After the restoration of our territorial integrity under the leadership of Victorious Supreme Commander- in- Chief mister Ilham Aliyev, the State Border Service implemented the tasks at a high level,” said the head of the State Border Service, colonel-general Elchin Guliyev at the report meeting of the SBS dedicated to the finals of service-combat activity in 2022, APA reports.

E. Guliyev noted that as a result of the control of the 132 km section of the Azerbaijan-Iran state border liberated from occupation, drug traffic passing through this area was prevented: “In the 198.7 km section of the state border with Armenia passing through Zangilan, Gubadli districts and a part of Lachin district, a reliable defense and security system of our borders has been ensured. The activity of the “Eyvazli” and “Gazanchi” departure points is under control, the organization of border control at the “Fuzuli” and “Zangilan” international airports, the strengthening of the military potential of the State Border Service in the liberated areas, effective countermeasure system for preventing the provocations of the enemy have been formed.”
