"Türkiye has announced its support for NATO expansion from the first day," said National Defense Minister of Türkiye, Hulusi Akar on the "High-Level Observer Day" of the "Winter Training - 2023" international exercise held in Kars, APA's Türkiye correspondent reports.
The Minister said in this mean that Türkiye's position for the membership of Sweden and Finland in NATO is clear: "In accordance with the trilateral memorandum, we wait for the relevant steps to be taken. We expect the extradition of terrorists in Sweden and Finland to Türkiye. In particular, we expect Sweden to fulfill its commitments. Unless these obligations are fulfilled, Türkiye will not say "yes" to its membership in NATO. They defended the obscene actions against our holy book. This is unacceptable. We canceled our meeting with my Swedish colleague, which was supposed to be held on January 21. On the other hand, we are following the positive steps taken by Finland'.
