UN allocated 11 million dollars for demining of Azerbaijani territories

After the 2020 conflict, the UN assisted to mobilize 11 million dollars to help demining the territories of Azerbaijan, said UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva said at the II International Conference on "Mine Action - The Path to Reaching the Sustainable Development Goals" held in Ağdam, APA reports.

She reminded that the Azerbaijan office of the UN has been partnering with Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) since 1999.

"With the financial support of the European Union (EU), UK government, other partners and internal UN resources, 3 UN agencies - UNDP, UNICEF UNHCR support ANAMA's mine action efforts through institutional strengthening, provision of technical expertise and education on explosive ordnance risk," Vladanka Andreeva said.
