Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry responds to Serzh Sargsyan

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense has responded to Armenia’s former president Serzh Sargsyan, the press service of the Ministry told APA.

Armenia’s former president Serzh Sargsyan speaking at press conference held today, voiced a crazy idea that as if the military instructors from Turkey and Israel were present in the composition of the Azerbaijani Army while talking about battles in April of 2016: “It is known that just the practice of use of hired militants from foreign countries due to lack of conscripts and mobilization reserves for calling up for military service in Armenia’s armed forces is widely applied.

The voicing of such absurd ideas by Serzh Sargsyan who partially recovered himself from the impact of the blow sustained by him in the April battles 4 years after those incidents in order to justify himself is not surprising at all. Thus, the complications resulting from defeat suffered by the Armenian army in those battles on the one hand and the call of the parliamentary commission for determination of reasons and heavily punishing of perpetrators of those failures on the other hand forced Serzh Sargsyan to take such a step.

We announce that today, the Azerbaijani Army is the army staffed with professional military servicemen specialized in our country and the most prestigious military education institutions of the world and having the most up-to-date weapons and ammunition and military equipment in its arsenal.

The false and ridiculous ideas voiced by Serzh Sargsyan are the unsuccessful attempt aimed at restoring his lost prestige in front of his partners and the Armenian wide public and especially at exerting influence on the decisions that will be adopted by the parliamentary commission. The Armenian people should know that the culprit of the humiliating defeat of the Armenian army in the April battles was just Serzh Sargsyan and his military and political regime.

We announce once again that the Azerbaijani Army who resolutely prevented the military adventure committed by Armenia’s present government on the site of Tovuz region of Armenia-Azerbaijan state border will also be able to prevent any provocation of the enemy from now on”.
