Azerbaijan imposes Martial law starting September 28, at 00.00

"By the decree of President Ilham Aliyev, martial law has been declared in the country," Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev said at a briefing today, APA reports.

Taking into account Article 109 and Article 111 of the Constitution, it was decided to declare martial law in the entire territory of Azerbaijan from 00:00 on September 28, 2020.

According to the decree, during the martial law in Baku, Ganja, Sumgayit, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Naftalan, Absheron, Jabrayil, Fuzuli, Beylagan, Agdam, Tartar, Goygol, Dashkasan, Gadabay, Tovuz, Shamkir, Gazakh and Agstafa districts from 21.00 A curfew was declared until 06.00.

During curfew, people are not allowed to go outside without ID cards and special documents.

Special measures will be taken for the movement of vehicles.

The Interior Ministry will take appropriate measures. During martial law, restrictions on the rights of citizens, regardless of the form of ownership, will be applied in accordance with the Constitution and laws.

The decree was sent to the Milli Majlis for approval.

The Foreign Ministry has been instructed to ensure the implementation of relevant tasks.

Permits will be obtained through the Easy Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It should be noted that the Milli Majlis has decided to impose martial law in the country.
