Azerbaijani Community appeals to Moscow Government in regard to another provocation of Armenians

The Azerbaijani Community of Moscow has appealed to the Moscow Government and the Russian Cinematographers’ Union in regard to another provocation of the Armenian Diaspora in Russia, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

The importance of termination of presentation by the Armenians in Russia’s capital city of the documentary film entitled as “Return” of the Russian TV journalist Svetlana Kulchitskaya telling the story of the war waged during 1990-ies in Nagorno Garabagh has been noted in the appeal sent on behalf of the community’s chairman Shamil Taghiyev to Alexander Kibovskiy, head of the Culture Department of the Moscow Government and Nikita Mikhalkov, chairman of the Cinematographers’ Union.

The appeal reads the history of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Garabagh conflict has been distorted in the documentary film which is planned to be presented on March 11 at the Cinema House situated in Vasilyevskaya street, the Azerbaijani side has been portrayed in the film as the aggressor nation while this is a falsification of the historical events: "As a result of this conflict, 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territory was occupied by the Armenian armed forces. Consequently, the large number of civilian Azerbaijanis were killed, over one million people were left without their homes and properties. On behalf of the Azerbaijani Community of Moscow we ask you to take measures for prevention of the mentioned provocation of the Armenian Diaspora in Russia that could cause instability in the multinational Russian society".

Note that the documentary film entitled as “Return” and produced by the Russian TV journalist Svetlana Kulchitskaya telling the story of the war waged during 1990-ies in Nagorno Garabagh has been shot by financial support of the Armenian Republic. In that film, the historical Azerbaijani lands are showed under the title of the East Armenia. The film tells the story of the struggle for the sake of “independence” and “freedom” conducted during 1990-ies by the Armenians in Nagorno Garabagh in the war conditions, without army and under blockade circumstances.

Remind that this year, on January 26, the Armenian diaspora in Russia attempted to demonstrate at “Pobeda” cinema hall in Moscow the film entitled as the “Magnificent country - Aran” directed against Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. But after the appeal of the Azerbaijani community in Moscow to the Moscow Government, the demonstration of the film was cancelled.
