Azerbaijani MFA: "It comes that as if Armenian FM goes to meetings just to drink tea"

"Yerevan’s response regarding the interview given by Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov to CBC television channel is quite strange”, said Leyla Abdullayeva, Head of Press Service Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan when answering a media outlet’s question, APA reports.

“It comes that as if Elmar Mammadyarov's Armenian counterpart had been meeting over the year and a half just to drink tea with Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs and the co-chairs. This is at least unserious. It would look as if Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs is very afraid of the domestic negative reaction because he can be demanded to make a clarification to the point as the Minister Elmar Mammadyarov made in his above-mentioned interview. In fact, the interview should be considered just in the context of the appeal of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmen on “calling people to peace”, the MFA official stressed.

Note that the press secretary of Armenian MFA stated that "no any document is discussed in the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the settlement of the conflict,” regarding the interview of Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov to CBC channel.
