Azerbaijani President’s aide: “Armenia tries to turn pandemic into target of speculation as well”

“The UN General Secretary has made an appeal regarding global ceasefire”, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan-Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hikmat Hajiyev said at a briefing held by Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports.

H. Hajiyev said Armenia tries to undermine solution of the conflict: “It tries to turn the pandemic into a target of speculation as well. The coronavirus also imposes obligations on states. If Armenia wants to demonstrate its commitment to its international obligations, then the coronavirus is also a good opportunity. Armenia should put an end to the occupation, and the right of the internally displaced people to return to their lands should be restored”.

H. Hajiyev noted that Azerbaijan supports implementation of exchange of war prisoners and hostages based on the principle of “all for all”: “And the position of the international community is that proceeding from humanistic principles, the war prisoners and hostages should be exchanged. We try to achieve exchange of war prisoners and hostages based on the principle of “all for all”. But Armenia demonstrates different position in this issue as well”.
