- 18 December 2020
"Now we can talk about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict only in the past tense. The ceasefire is being maintained in Karabakh and will become even stronger," said Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan at meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, APA reports.
Noting that he fully agrees with Russian President Vladimir Putin on this issue, the head of state stressed that we must talk about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the past: "This is history."
Touching upon Russia's peacekeeping mission in Karabakh, President Ilham Aliyev said: “The mission is in constant contact with the relevant structures of Azerbaijan. There has been only one incident of ceasefire violations during a month and a half since the signing of the trilateral declaration. The incident was eliminated in one day, the ceasefire is maintained, and I think it will become stronger day by day."
