Chairman of Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Garabagh: “These games of Armenia’s political leadership will remain futile”
- 22 May 2020
The chairman of the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Garabagh region of the Azerbaijan Republic Tural Ganjaliyev has issued a statement, the Community told APA.
The statement reads:
"Yesterday – on May 21, Armenia took a step that dealt a blow to the peace process at the highest level by organizing the so-called “inauguration ceremony” for the so-called “president” appointed by it to the Armenian community of Azerbaijan’s occupied Nagorno Garabag region through the illegal “election” show organized by itself. This provocation was organized in the building of Azerbaijan cinema hall in Azerbaijan’s occupied Shusha City with the participation of people representing Armenia’s political leadership at the highest level.
All these steps – the so-called “election” show, the so-called “inauguration” event, and most importantly the organization of this event at the place representing special spiritual significance for Azerbaijan – i.e. Shusha City served for a single purpose – to ensure that the peace negotiations will remain futile.
Even the “event” organized yesterday was so senseless and groundless that the new puppet “leader” of the so-called regime repeated in his speech in the same form the expression “Garabagh belongs to Armenia and that is final” voiced in Khankendi in August of 2019 by Armenia’s prime minister.
In this case, such a question appears, if Garabagh is Armenia, who are you? The answer is very clear, a fake representative, appointed by the Armenian side to the occupied territories in order to falsify the content of the conflict.
We determinedly note these games of the political authority of Armenia will not be successful. The highest legal approval of the content of the conflict has been reflected in the resolution and statements of the UN and other international organizations. As it was obviously shown in the final document of the Helsinki Summit of the CSCE (currently OSCE), held in March 1992, Republics of Armenia and Azerbaijan are sides of the Conflict, while the Armenian and Azerbaijani communities of Nagorno Garabagh region are interesting sides of the Conflict.
We once again declare that the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict can only be resolved after the withdrawal of the aggressor Armenian Army from occupied Azerbaijani territories and the return of Azerbaijani internally-displaced persons, expelled from their native lands, to the all occupied territories within the framework of internationally-recognized territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The provision of sustainable and fair peace in the region is possible with just the peaceful co-existence of the Armenian and Azerbaijani communities of Azerbaijan’s occupied region Nagorno Garabagh within the framework of internationally-recognized territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It is a red line for us and the main condition for the provision of peace in the region.”
