“According to the information of Armenian government until the Second Karabakh war, 636 of them have stepped on mine” said Hafis Sefikhanov the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Company, APA reports.
According to him, During this period, the number of people who stepped on mine from the Azerbaijani side is about 3000: “525 of them have died. The number of people who died from the Azerbaijani side is near the total number in Armenia. This shows that mined territories are Azerbaijani lands. Anti-personnel mines are considered as cheap weapons. But Armenia does not have this problem, because they produce these mines".
He noted that no casualties have been reported in the recent battles.
