“A new tension in the Nagorno Garabagh conflict zone has once again led to bloodshed and human casualties. Nagorno Garabagh problem cannot be resolved by force,” Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council wrote on a Facebook post, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
According to Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, the settlement should be carried out by political and diplomatic means without exception:
“I have repeatedly been personally convinced of this, especially when I acted as a mediator for the negotiations between the two countries from the Russian Federation. Now all parties need to calm down. First of all, stop aggravating passions, get rid of pugnacious rhetoric and stop the military part of the conflict by joint activity. Otherwise, catastrophic consequences for the region cannot be prevented. Today, all opportunities should be used to overcome the crisis, as well as the co-chairing mechanisms within the OSCE Minsk Group and the bilateral format. Armenia and Azerbaijan are our neighbors and close partners.”
