“We have released as a result of efforts of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. As a person from Kalbajar, I congratulate Azerbaijani people on the occasion of our victory in the Patriotic War” said Dilgam Asgarov, who was held hostage by Armenians at today’s press conference, APA reports.

He has noted that they have been tortured in the Armenian captivity.

“I did not pass through Armenian territory, I visited my native land. I did not go there for the first time. They imprisoned me in my native territory. They took me to Khankendi. They broke my fingers. There are breaks in my head still. They did not give me food for a year in Khankendi. They were giving me water, healed in an iron plate and little paste. My weight was more than 100 kg when I was imprisoned, but then it decreased to 55 kg. I did not have power. They beat me with gunstock every time when they took me. There were such times that 15 people beat me at their so-called “prosecutor”. I counted all of them. All of these happened during the investigation. I was powerless, I could not stand up. Food was not brought by the International Red Cross Committee either. This Committee did not have any help during this year. Although a part of my body was paralyzed. The Red Cross Committee was aware of all tortures, which I subjected to, but they did not take a measure,” D. Asgarov stressed.
