"Starting last week, Dashkasan and Shamkir areas came under fire from the territory of Armenia," said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at a press conference after a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Baku, APA reports.
According to Bayramov, the purpose of it is that Azerbaijan to take retaliatory measures and appeal to the Collective Security Treaty Organization of Armenia, to involve third parties in the conflict: "Starting from last Saturday, Armenia has targeted the major cities of Azerbaijan 100-200 km away - Ganja and Mingachevir. The conduct of military operations is in itself is an unpleasant scenario. However conducting military operations has its own certain rules. There is no red line for Armenia. The way of thinking of military political leadership of Armenia is terrorist. The position of Azerbaijan is based on international law and historical truth. Azerbaijani leadership has repeatedly stated that it does not have any problem with peaceful Armenian population living in the territories of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is a peace-loving country."
