The media representatives who were on a trip to the territories liberated from the occupation visited the cemetery in the village of Gulabird, Lachin region, APA's correspondent reports.

The journalists saw the destroyed graves and historical monuments.

The grave of the famous Sari Ashig is also in an unrecognizable state. The tomb was completely destroyed, the complex of monuments erected in front of the tomb was also destroyed.

Gravestones and stone sculptures of animals dating back to the 9th century were also destroyed and plundered by Armenian vandals.

8 out of 15 Azerbaijani servicemen who became martyrs during the First Karabakh War were buried in the village of Gulabird. Their graves were also destroyed by the Armenians.

After the liberation of Gulabird from the occupation, their photographs were installed on the site of the graves of the martyrs.

He noted that one of the 17th century Sari Ashig, was buried in the village of Gulabird, Lachin region. His grave has been visited by locals for centuries.

After the occupation of the Lachin region in 1993, Armenian vandals completely destroyed the grave of Sari Ashig.
