“France joined the co-chairmanship of the Minsk Group later. We agreed to this at the request of Paris,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in a joint press conference at the finals of negotiations with his Armenian counterpart Ara Ayvazyan, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

According to Russian FM, France was not previously represented in the Minsk Group co-chair: “If we are talking about the co-chairing of Minsk Group, from the beginning, the co-chairs were Russia and US, France joined later. We agreed to this at the request of Paris.”
