“Part of a long-term and lasting settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is the establishment of normal life in the region and good neighbouring relations between Armenians and Azerbaijanis,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in a joint press conference at the finals of negotiations with his Armenian counterpart Ara Ayvazyan, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

According to him, the establishment of normal life would also meet the interests of national, ethnic, confessional and religious groups living in the region: “We are an active supporter of this. We will support actively the steps to be taken in this direction. Our Azerbaijani and Armenian colleagues will decide themselves when direct contacts between Baku and Yerevan, including between leaderships, will take place."
