Mustafa Shentop: “Azerbaijan openly was by side of Turkey on international problems”
- 08 January 2021
“Turkey was by side of Azerbaijan in its righteous fight in advance,” Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Mustafa Shentop said at the opening ceremony of a symposium on "Balance of Power in the South Caucasus and the Karabakh conflict" in Turkey, APA’s Turkey bureau reports.
Reminding his visit to Ganja city bombed during 44 day patriotic War by Armenian armed forces, the head of the Turkish Parliament noted that his country demonstrated real support to Azerbaijan.
According to him, Foreign and national defense ministers of Turkey have regularly visited Azerbaijan.
“There are some reasons for Turkey's support for Azerbaijan in this righteous fight. The first of this is the concept of “one nation, two states” that we regularly express. It is not just a slogan. Azerbaijani politicians have responded to the views, attacks, and criticisms against our country at some international events where the representatives of Turkey did not participate. Turkey also has taken a similar step. We have also seen recently that Azerbaijan, especially President Ilham Aliyev was by the side of Turkey,” M. Shentop stressed.
