Today, Azerbaijan’s second largest city Ganja having the ancient history was shelled from Armenia’s territory. Consequenbtly, there are mortal and injured casualties among civilian population, damage was caused to great number of civilian facilities, Ombudsman’s Administrative Office told APA.

The infliction of fire on civilian residents of Ganja City situated significantly far from the conflict zone is a blatant violation of human rights and freedoms, norms and principles of international law as a whole, including the Geneva conventions adopted in 1949 and their additional protocols, decisions and resolutions of the UN Security Council.

“These atrocities committed against civilian population are a military crime and the legal appraisal should be given to it at the international level”, is noted.
