"Continuous correspondence and meetings are held to clarify the fate of the captured Azerbaijani servicemen," said Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva said in an interview APA.

"The appeal was addressed to the UN, the Council of Europe, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other authorized international and regional organizations. Correspondence and meetings are held regularly.

Personally, I stated in my appeals to these organizations that the Armenian armed forces continued to commit war crimes in serious violation of international humanitarian law, including the requirements of the Geneva Conventions, not only against civilians, but also other non-combatants, conscripts and prisoners of war.

Acts of barbarism against prisoners of war, especially the wounded and the dead, have been highlighted. It was demanded to investigate the facts of war crimes committed by the Armenian armed forces on the basis of special procedures and take measures to establish international legal responsibility," said S. Aliyeva.
