President Ilham Aliyev: “Future of the region will largely depend on the ability of the Armenian leadership to properly assess the situation"

“Since the beginning of the conflict, I told foreign journalists in numerous interviews and in my addresses to the people that as soon as the Armenian side announced the date of its withdrawal from our territories, we were ready to stop at any moment and I told it openly. That is what happened. When the date on the timetable on which the three districts would be returned to us indicated on the statement, the military operations were suspended,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in his speech at the meeting of heads of CIS countries, APA reports.
The head of our state continued his speech: “If we take into consideration the period from September 27 to November 10, we can say that the conflict has been resolved by military-political methods. Yesterday, Vladimir Vladim has showed once again in an interview with the media that Nagorna-Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan. This is not such first statement. I think, this is very important statement. Especially, it is very important for the political forces in Armenia trying to reconsider the terms of the November 10 statement.Unfortunately, there are such forces, and this is a very serious signal to all those who are trying to prevent the implementation of this statement. We have made such attempts during the war, even after the signing of the statement. I do not want to go into details. We have seen the efforts of certain external circles. They were dissatisfied with the fact that they were somehow out of touch with this issue”
The President of Azerbaijan noted that those who are dissatisfied with Russia's leading role in the ceasefire are trying to create certain unrest in Armenian society and, in fact, to create some confusion to violate this statement: " Vladimir Vladimirovich also noted in one of his interviews how devastating this could be for the Armenian side in the first place. He was asked what would happen if Armenia did not fulfill the terms of the statement, which he said would be tantamount to suicide. This is really so."
"I believe that the future of the region will largely depend on the ability of the Armenian leadership to properly assess the situation and take the right steps to make peace lasting and lasting," said the head of state.
