“The ceasefire entered into force for the first time on the 10th day of the month and my stance was such that this should bear a humanitarian character and we gave our consent to this in order to exchange corpses, dead bodies of the killed people, to exchange hostages, war prisoners”, said Ilham Aliyev in his appeal to the people today, APA reports.

The head of state said however Armenia blatantly violated the ceasefire less than one day past thereafter: “And it did this even in treacherous manner. It bombarded Ganja at night time. Thereafter, a new ceasefire came into force on October 17. Once again, 2 minutes later, Armenia violated it. And now, from 08:00 a.m. in the morning today, a new proposal was put forward. But as I have already inquired about this as early as at 09:00 a.m. in the morning, a few minutes later, the ceasefire was violated by Armenia, a fire was opened again on Terter region. But despite this I have still given instruction that the Azerbaijani Army should behave itself with restraint, should not succumb to provocation. My stance is clear to my people. This issue should find its solution. Either in military or in peaceful way. And I have proposed that if you wish it then ok, let it be solved in the peaceful way, and we will stop. But it should be immediately said to us that Armenia withdraws from our lands. A timetable should be given. Certain number of days later from this region, certain number of days later from that region, certain number of days later from another region. A timetable should be given. Has Armenia given such a timetable? No, it hasn't given. Then, in such a case, if the ceasefire is continued or the issue is left in frozen condition again, this can’t satisfy us”.
