“Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Garabagh conflict continues to create serious obstacles to any development of the region. Azerbaijan is committed to a peaceful political solution of the conflict,” said the chairperson of Azerbaijani Parliament at the meeting with Sergei Lavrov, Press and Public Relations Department of Milli Majlis told APA.
She said that the solution of the conflict should be within the framework of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan on the basis of the UN Charter, relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council: “In general, against the background of ineffective activity of OSCE Minsk group Russia, the chair of this group takes an active part in the settlement process of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Garabagh conflict. The Russian side has made many efforts in this field. However, the absurd statements made by the Prime Minister of Armenia N. Pashinyan lately and called the "seven conditions" that the option of a compromise for the settlement of the conflict can be discussed only if Azerbaijan recognizes the right of the population of the Nagorno-Karabakh region to self-determination, cancel out all the efforts of the world communities for the peaceful resolution of the conflict."
