Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should have been resolved by OSCE Minsk Group, said Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Mustafa Sentop while commenting on the letter penned by 54 senators calling on President Joe Biden to press the Turkish government regarding the ongoing human rights situation in Turkey.
“US is also one of Minsk Group Co-chairs. The US wanted to resolve the problem in accordance with international law. What does international law say? It has been reflected in the 4 known resolutions of the UN Security Council that Armenia occupied 20% of Azerbaijani territories. Therefore, the Minsk Group had to remove the occupant from those territories in accordance with international law. We come to the conclusion that the US also stands by Azerbaijan within the framework. But what do these senators say? They criticize Azerbaijan and Turkey, which supports it relevant to international law, instead of condemning Armenia,” Chair of the TGNA stressed.
