“We exchanged views on the latest situation around Nagorno Garabagh conflict with my Swedish counterpart Ann Linde,” said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at a joint press conference with his Swedish counterpart Ann Linde, APA reports.

Turkish FM stated that he informed A. Linde on provocations committed by Armenian armed forces in Tovuz in July, at the same time about the attacks against civilians.

“We have been declaring so far on behalf of Turkey that we support a peaceful solution of the conflict. But the fact that these attempts didn’t yield results and encouraged Armenia even more. Armenia especially targets the Azerbaijani civilian population. Even after the humanitarian ceasefire agreed at the end of the negotiations in Moscow, Armenia continues to attack the civilian population. There is a significant number of losses among the civilian population. The co-chairs haven’t taken any concrete steps so far in order to solve the conflict. It is of benefit to holding a meeting of the Minsk Group in 9+2 format. We have brought this proposal on agenda today. And especially the co-chairs should report to the Minsk Group. The clarity should be lent to such issues as what works have been done so far, what they couldn’t do, why the conflict hasn’t found its solution etc. We should already take steps in this area. The only way to the solution of the conflict is the withdrawal of Armenia from the Azerbaijani lands. We have repeatedly said this. We said we support Azerbaijan on both the battlefield and negotiations’ table. We also say this today”, the head of Turkey’s MFA stressed.
