“Islamic World has always stood by Azerbaijan,” said Turkish Permanent Representative to the OIC Mehmet Metin Eker at the press conference on results of the visit of permanent representatives of member states of the OIC Contact Group to Ganja and Aghdam today, on the aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, APA reports.

According to the Turkish Permanent Representative to the OIC, the OIC has unequivocally supported Azerbaijan, although different positions were put forward from the Western world: “There is not a single safe building in Aghdam. The person who guided us knew all the buildings one by one. He gave information about all destroyed buildings one by one. It is clear that Armenian occupants are also enemies of culture. I visited Azerbaijan in the 1990s, after a while of the occupation of Karabakh. Now the territories of Karabakh have been liberated with one victory. I am very touched to see the hope and gleam in the eyes of our Azerbaijani brothers. It is also an Islamic land that escaped from the occupation, a land where Islamic culture lives. The liberation of Karabakh from occupation is the liberation of Islamic lands. We pray that this will be an occasion to end the oppression in other parts of the Islamic world.”

Mehmet Metin Eker noted that the next stage of the fight starts now: “Firstly, demining of lands, secondly, construction of roads, railways, hospitals, schools, third, construction of houses, return of people to their lands. Liberation of lands from the occupation is a great victory. After this ensuring security in these lands and the return of people to their lands is an important task of Azerbaijan. OIC stands by side of Azerbaijan in this field. I once again congratulate Azerbaijani people on victory.”
