UN stands ready to work with Russia to assess needs in Karabakh

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the relevant humanitarian structures of the organization are ready to cooperate with the Russian Federation and to conduct an assessment of humanitarian needs in Nagorno-Karabakh, said Stefan Dujarric, official representative of the organization's secretary-general, Antonio Guterres at a briefing, APA reports citing RIA Novosti.

“In response to a request from the Russian Federation and pending additional details on the role and operating conditions of the Russian Interdepartmental Center for Humanitarian Response, the Secretary General confirmed that the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and relevant UN units are ready to cooperate and discuss possible interaction and cooperation on the ground, including with the aim of conducting an initial independent interdepartmental assessment in Nagorno-Karabakh and adjacent territories, as soon as conditions permit, in order to get a complete picture of humanitarian needs, "Dujarrik said.
